I believe that if we can teach little girls to dream that they’ll be the force that changes the world. But I believe more than that; if we can teach broken women to dream like little girls again, it will be the force the world has yet to see. Amber Runyon, founder of Legacy & Eleventh Candle Co
This month we are excited to introduce Eleventh Candle Company at enzee. Founded by former hospice nurse Amber Runyon, this company strives to global redeem, restore and empower. On a trip to Ethiopia, Amber's life was changed as she realized that women across the globe were struggling to support their children in any way possible. Out of this, Legacy and Eleventh Candle Co. were born.
Amber saw a need to create a sustainable solution to the above problems. These companies strive to redeem, restore, empower and equip by employing vulnerable women through Legacy’s product line, Eleventh Candle Co in Columbus. Legacy also work with a village in Ethiopia to support school and foster care programs. Each purchase helps support these programs and people.
Thus far, Legacy has helped build a school, create a soccer field for children, support a local co-op, and employ Ethiopian artisans. They have a continued focus is on early childhood education, working with the street children and empowering women in their own communities.

In honor of Hunger Action Month, we want to share more about FEED and the inspiration behind the totes. Founder Lauren Bush Lauren traveled around the world as a World Food Programme Spokesperson and saw the effects hunger had on children. Inspired by a program that she saw providing school meals, Lauren founded FEED in 2007.
FEED's motto: create good products that help feed the world. These well made bags (the Market Tote stands on it's own) provide a tangible way to fight hunger; each product has a number stopped on it to signify the amount of school meals provided with its purchase. The company is also committed to using environmentally friendly materials as well as working with artisans to provide sustainable livelihoods in underserved populations.
795 million people around the world are affected by hunger. That's about one in nine! It can be hard to imagine where we live but we can make a difference. Click the links below for additional information on steps you can take this month to combat hunger.

In our mission to continuously grow in our philanthropic efforts at enzee, we make it a point to look at a variety of notable factors when choosing a brand to carry. Aside from what one would traditionally view as philanthropic (i.e. doing good for others), we also consider how we can use this mindset to do good for the world in and of itself.
Mona B is a brand which allows us to promote materials that help the earth. It’s no secret that being environmentally-conscious is necessary right now, and we have found ways to provide stylish finds that don’t compromise the health of our planet through Mona B.
Mona B is creative in how they tie together fashion and sustainability. Each bag made in the Mona B collection is kind to the earth, as they only utilize materials which will cause less harm to the environment than traditional materials. With an eco-friendly mindset and a determination to “be the change that the world needs,” Mona B is making a difference – one which we are proud to support.
Perhaps the most unique component of Mona B’s eco-friendly creations is found in their canvas collection. These pieces come from up-cycled, durable materials: truck tarps and military tents found across Indian deserts and jungles. In recycling these supplies, they are first sunbaked, weathered, and cured before being hand stitched and screen printed into an adventurous, unique, and truly one-of-a-kind design.
While we prioritize helping those in need with a majority of our philanthropic brands, we are also aware that we must care for the earth – and we must show Mother Nature some love in order to get some back. Join us in supporting eco-friendly and stylish accessories by shopping Mona B at enzee.
“The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kind.” –Dalai Lama
Lily and Laura bracelets have been an enzee treasure for many years. Both a customer and employee favorite, they have a timeless fashion with a variety of colorful options to match your entire wardrobe! Our appreciation of Lily and Laura doesn’t end with the fashion: the brand also happens to come from a very charitable and loving place.
Laura, one of the women behind the Lily and Laura brand, spent a great deal of her life traveling to over thirty countries. She settled in Nepal in 1996 and decided to stay there for the wonderful people and beauty that extend across the country. Eventually, Laura discovered Nepali women’s crocheted bracelets. With a growing passion for fashion and accessories and strong Nepali roots, Lily and Laura was soon created.
All Lily and Laura bracelets come from the loving hands of women artists in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. These women custom design and hand crochet each and every bracelet very precisely with Matsuno Glass Beads, the finest in the world. Once the products are completed, Lily and Laura practices fair trade across the business process, and even focus on paying more than fair trade wages to their artisans in Nepal.
By practicing fair trade and supporting local creations, Lily and Laura has greatly improved the quality of life for these women artisans and their families in Nepal. To keep this in perspective, it’s important to note that Nepal is one of the poorest, least developed countries in the world, with roughly one-third of the population living below the poverty line.
To give women and families in third-world countries love, hope, and a sense of stability is an incredible and unique achievement that Lily and Laura was able to create.
It doesn’t end here though – now, it’s your turn to show support. When you shop Lily and Laura, you know your bracelets are coming from a place of care – from the women artisans to the fair-trade business practices. Shop Lily and Laura at enzee to join these incredible women in working toward better futures for themselves, their children, and their communities.

With a mission to “Give and Live Happy,” Natural Life is a brand that works hard to leave a huge impact on the world. By partnering with a number of organizations and by dedicating certain collections to charitable causes, Natural Life consistently finds the connection between style and philanthropy – just as we aim to achieve at enzee.
The first way in which Natural Life gives back is by donating a “Happy Box” to a charitable cause. Whether raising money for a non-profit or supporting an individual in need, these boxes are donated to a variety of causes in order to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Additionally, Natural Life collaborates with Challenge Enterprises, an organization local to Natural Life’s roots in Jacksonville, FL. Natural Life donates Mystery Bags to this organization which provides person-centered programs, services, and job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Challenge Enterprises allows Natural Life to “Give and Live Happy,” as the organization is always helping individuals chase their dreams and follow their passions.
Finally, Natural Life supports a number of causes with their Giveback Collections. Essentially, proceeds from these collections help people across the globe through the various organizations that partner with Natural Life. For example, the Fearless Giveback Collection assists in educating, empowering, and reducing the stigma of anxiety disorders. In addition, Natural Life Giveback Collections support More Than Me, an organization fighting for every girls’ fundamental rights to safety, health, and education in Liberia, as well as The McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation which was created to help young people recognize their potential in honor of late McKenzie Noelle Wilson, who passed away at age fifteen from a sudden, rare illness.
All in all, Natural Life goes above and beyond when it comes to giving back. For Natural Life, making the world a better place is a priority and passion – one which we also follow here at enzee. Shop Natural Life at enzee with the knowledge that your purchase is truly going to a great cause.
Perfect for a First Communion, Confirmation, or just an everyday accessory coming from a place of love, My Saint My Hero bracelets carried at enzee give “the gift of a blessing.” However, when understanding this brand in depth and the incredible cause behind the jewelry, you will start to realize how these bracelets give far more than just one blessing.
Each bracelet is handwoven by artisans in small towns across the world. With roots in Medjugorje, a small town in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, My Saint My Hero provides women in this community with meaningful work to help them rise above poverty. Each bracelet is carefully hand-crafted, and once the bracelet is completed, these women artisans bless the jewelry with Holy Water. In its truest and most literal sense, My Saint My Hero bracelets give “the gift of a blessing.”
In addition to “the gift of a blessing” that is created from each bracelet, My Saint My Hero gives so many more blessings to the strong, brave, and wonderful women across the world with whom they work. As the company has grown, they’ve expanded their reach outside of Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina to also include two other villages in this war-torn country. Furthermore, My Saint My Hero supports women in Senhoa, Cambodia who were rescued from human trafficking, as well as women overcoming poverty and providing for their families in Mexicali, Mexico.
The brand, the stories, and the people behind My Saint My Hero are an inspiration to us all. The positivity and opportunity that this brand has been able to provide to women and families in need is astonishing. Shop My Saint My Hero at enzee to continue spreading awareness of this incredible mission while supporting economic growth, equality, and prosperity for women.
And to wrap it all up, I’ll leave you with this message from Lenka, one of the four original My Saint My Hero artisans in Medjugorje:
“So I give this message to all the people wearing our bracelets that we have to be strong and we have to be thankful for each moment that we wake up and have a blessed day. It doesn’t matter how bad life is or the bad things that happen, we have to be strong and thankful to God for every day of life.”
This year, it is our mission to uphold our tagline “where fashion meets philanthropy,” and to keep our customers informed of these efforts along the way. In a world where negativity and divisiveness seem to consume the media, our hope is to bring the community together by shopping local with the purpose of helping others (and enjoying fashionable finds, of course).
When you shop enzee, you support brands across the world who are committed to doing good and giving back. At enzee, we carry a multitude of philanthropic brands that tie in with our mission to bring fashion and philanthropy closer together. Each month, we will be posting a blog featuring one of our charitable, philanthropic, and honorable brands, beginning with Spiritual Gangster.
Founded by hip-hop yogi Ian Lopatin, Spiritual Gangster created their brand around providing trendy yet comfortable clothing to shoppers, inspired by yogis, athletes, artists, and musicians. Designers and employees alike are driven by the strong sense of purpose behind the Spiritual Gangster brand. In everything they do and all they create, Spiritual Gangster practices living with gratitude, happiness, and generosity.
Spiritual Gangster, like enzee, prioritizes giving back. Thanks to their partnership with Feeding America, for every item sold by Spiritual Gangster, a meal is donated to a person in need – 10 million meals and counting, to be exact. Not only does Spiritual Gangster make the world a better place through their partnership with Feeding America, but they also support the following organizations to continue to do good: Cambodian Children’s Fund, Make a Wish Arizona, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Their quote to live by: “May all beings everywhere be happy and free.”
Shop Spiritual Gangster at enzee to support their attitude of positive energy and giving back. When shopping this brand, and many others at enzee, your purchase goes far beyond the cash register – it’s about giving back, helping others, and supporting one another in times of need.
